End Of The Road..

Not quite sure how to start this.. It's just so sad! Anyway this will be our last blog entry. Ever. And it's in english as a tribute to all the non-norwegian people we met (yes, believe it or not, we did make friends from other places.. like Sweden and stuff). Plus we haven't used norwegian in a while so it'll be better this way. Right now we're in Heathrow airport waiting for our last flight back to Oslo, and we can't really upload any pictures so it's going to be all text (yes, yes, boring. But bear with us tho, and if u don't just read the first and last paragraph, that's where all the good stuff is anyway).

So Hawaii was above and beyond all our expectations. We didn't really have any, but if we did it probably would have been anyway. As usual we didn't get much further than our first stop (Waikiki beach), because we just met too many nice people there. The hostel we stayed in was really great, and since it was our last stop on the trip we didn't really want to waste time looking for a new place when where we were was so much fun. We're sorry to report that despite all our plans for Hawaii we didnt really see much more than Waikiki, because we mostly spent all our days at the beach there.. Although we did rent a car one day and drove around the island, so you can't say we didn't try. Anyway our most important goal with Hawaii was to see a turtle, and we did see one that day so all in all we're very pleased with the outcome. We also got pulled over by the cops earlier that day, because it's illegal to litter on the streets, and as it turns out one of the guys in the back was eating sunflower seeds and throwing the empty shells out the window. So it was pretty much all on him (sorry, Neil). The cop just told him to stop and warned us that there was a fine for littering (but cmon, it's SEEDS, it's from the earth! It was probably good for the street..), so nothing really happened. Other than us getting a minor heart attack. But no worries.

Before and after Hawaii we also spent a night in LA, and we stayed in a hostel in Hollywood both nights so other than walk of fame and the hollywood sign we didn't really see much (yeah, yeah, we know, lazy people). Plus it was very cold, even for norwegian standards. But when we stopped there on the way to Hawaii we did get a glimpse of a movie premiere though. And we have to admit we felt pretty cool standing there with all the teenage girls screaming their heads off. There was a red carpet and everything, so pretty exciting for two nowegian girls..

So now the time has finally come to return back home. It's wierd because in some ways it feels like we left a lifetime ago, and in others it feels like just two weeks. It has without any doubt been worth all the blood, sweat and tears beforehand, and it's hard to imagine anything matching this. As far as what we've learned about how our futures look, I'm not quite sure. I mean, we probably did learn some things, but its hard to pin down exactly what. It was a great trip. The best trip. And even though it was just a couple of months, we experienced so much it could have been a whole year. And what we did realize, is that the world is just a teeny, tiny place. And that it's the people in it that makes it seem big. It's hard to imagine that you can travel to the other side of the planet and still find people you know you could be really good friends with, people that just fit. And just think of how many people there are in the world! Granted, they're probably not all as cool, but I'm sure there's a few left that could be worth meeting. Although I still really can't imagine them matching the ones we already met.. Anyway, it's been great. And we really want to thank everyone we met along the way who made it that way. Every single one has left a mark, and we will remember you guys forever. At least until this blog expires anyway..

So for one last time; THANK YOU.
We miss you. And we hope we'll meet again someday.

And if you're ever in Norway...
